Separation Consumables

Our separation system consists of three consumable parts:

  • A strainer (sieve) to retain the pluriBeads and the bead bound targets
  • A connector ring to detach the targets
  • A funnel to support the sample loading onto the strainer 

pluriStrainer

The pluriStrainer is a sterile sieving device which retains targets labeled with pluriBead. It fits into a standard 50 ml centrifuge (conical) tube that is used as a collecting container for the flow through (the detached targets, the depleted fraction or waste and unwanted targets).

pluriStrainer also enables:

  • Preparation of a single cell suspension
  • Preseparation for buffy coats
  • Filtering of bone marrow
  • Filtering of agglutinative proteins

Connector ring

Our connector ring supports the direct detachment of targets on the sieve. The sterile device is compatible with nearly all 50ml standard (conical) tubes.


Strainer, connector ring and a 50ml tube can be combined to a unit. This unit allows for a controlled flow through the sieve.

When the Luer-lock is closed, the sample remains on the sieve. An open Luer-lock starts the separation process. A pump connected to the Luer-lock supports the flow through the strainer.

The unit enables:

  • detachment of the targets from the beads directly on the strainer
  • lyses of the targets to extract RNA, DNA or proteins directly on the strainer
  • controlled flow through the strainer with a pump device or pipette
The connector ring supports the detachment of targets. The connector is compatible with nearly all 50ml standard tubes.
The pluriStrainer can be placed into the connector. If the luer lock of the connector ring is closed and the sieve is placed correctly, liquid will remain onto the pluriStrainer. Now you can detach the targets, lyse or stimulate cells.

Funnel

The sterile funnel can be employed to support the sample loading onto the pluriStrainer. This way, larger sample volumes can be placed on the sieve and the maximum application volume of liquid increases from 4ml to 15ml.
