Steel Basket strainers are made of fine stainless steel mesh (stainless steel type 316), fit into all standard 50 ml centrifuge tubes and are available in five different pore sizes: 20 µm, 50 µm, 100 µm, 200 µm and 500 µm.
The screens are characterized by precise mesh openings, high percentage open area and mesh thickness. The chemical resistance of the steel allows them to be used in processes where plastic screens are not suitable. Thanks to the steel used, the filters are very robust and can withstand high temperatures and high pressure. The steel filters can be used for liquids, liquid media or compressed air. Due to the strength of the mesh, the stainless steel screens offer absolute retention performance in a wide range of filtration applications. The excellent mechanical stability of the stainless steel mesh means that the screen can be used for mesh dissociation.
The steel basket strainers are reusable and can be sterilized by heat or autoclaving if necessary. Cleaning or regeneration of the strainers can be carried out using an ultrasonic bath or backwashing. After cleaning, the steel filter is ready for use again.
