Universal pluriBeads - cell isolation with own antibody

In addition to a wide range of different standardized pluriBeads, our universal pluriBeads allow you to use your own specific antibodies. By coupling your specific antibody to the universal pluriBeads, you can easily create your own functionalized capture particles for the positive isolation of cells or biological targets (see figure). After labeling the universal pluriBead with your own antibody, proceed with the usual pluriBead cell isolation protocol.

Figure: Coupling scheme of specific antibodies to universal pluriBead
Universal pluriBeads are coated with a polyclonal antibody (2) that binds (3) user-defined primary antibodies (1). This allows the isolation of specific cells, proteins or biomolecules. This flexible technology enables individual positive selection and makes the universal pluriBeads a versatile tool for cell separation, protein purification and biomarker research.

The universal capture particles bind to the constant part (Fc part) of the antibody. A modification of the antibodies is not necessary.

Secondary antibodies are produced against the host species and isotype of the primary antibody. For example, if you have used a polyclonal primary antibody raised in goats, you will need an anti-goat IgG secondary antibody (heavy and light chains) raised in a different species.

Secondary antibodies bind to primary antibodies and are commonly used to detect and visualize a primary antibody coupled to a protein in applications such as Western blot or immunocytochemistry.

The following universal pluriBeads are available:

pluriBead anti-mouse IgG

pluriBead® Anti-hamster IgG

pluriBead® Anti-rat IgG

pluriBead® Anti-goat IgG

pluriBead® Anti-rabbit IgG

pluriBead anti-human IgG
